The original Hudson House opened in Highland Park in 2017 and quickly became a neighborhood favorite for lunch, dinner and happy hour. Patrons know the restaurant for its cheeseburgers, flown-in-daily East Coast oysters, the “World’s Coldest Martini” and interiors reminiscent of a New England dining institution. The restaurant and raw bar is inspired by the adored neighborhood joints of the West Village in New York City.

Hunter Pond, Founder of Vandelay Hospitality Group says of this new location in a statement, “Hudson House offers East Coast comfort food perfect for lunch, dinner, happy hour or brunch. We’re looking forward to bringing another concept to Preston Hollow in addition to D.L. Mack’s which we opened last fall.”

The Hudson House menu features coastal-inspired dishes and the raw bar. Dishes include Hudson’s Avocado Dip made with whipped avocado, green onion, herbs and ranch chips; The Cheeseburger – thin patties, American cheese, pickles, and Hudson sauce (special in-house recipe); Chicken Parm, classically prepared with creamy tomato pasta and reggiano; and American Tuna Tower – fresh ahi tuna, mashed avocado, English cucumber, mixed local greens and radishes, B & W sesame seeds, drizzled with wasabi vinaigrette. From the Raw Bar, specialty seafood tower, The Bouquet includes a spread of specialty East Coast oysters, shrimp cocktail with chipotle remoulade, princely cut snow crab claws, and tuna tartare.

To pair, the drink selection is known for the “World’s Coldest Martini” with options such as The Classic; Bleu & Gold – vodka, olive juice, bleu cheese salt, and housemade bleu cheese olives; Lemon Drop – lemon vodka, fresh lemon juice, Limoncello foam; and The Espresso – vodka, espresso, Kahlua and Bailey’s. Other standout cocktails include the Frozen Bellini; Strawberry Spritz – strawberry Aperol, grapefruit and prosecco; Spicy Mexican – socorro reposado, jalapeño, cucumber, and fresh lime; Manhattan – rittenhouse rye whiskey, vermouth and angostura bitters.

The space will have its trademark warm leather booths, large wraparound bar, an outdoor patio, and a large sit-down raw bar.

Hudson House Preston Hollow joins the restaurant group’s collection as the eighth outpost of the brand, and Vandelay’s 21st restaurant. In addition, Vandelay Hospitality Group’s succession of establishments throughout the nation’s major cities and neighborhoods include Drake’s Hollywood, D.L. Mack’s, Brentwood, East Hampton, Slider & Blues and Anchor Sushi Bar.

The restaurant will be open from Sunday to Wednesday – 11AM to 9PM and Thursday to Saturday 11AM to 10PM. Happy hour is from 3 – 6 pm on weekdays at the bar featuring half price martinis and bellinis and wines by the glass, $3 East Coast Oysters, $10 Cheeseburgers.
