Vandelay Hospitality Group Founder, Hunter Ponds says of the restaurant in a statement, “I opened my first restaurant, East Hampton Sandwich Co., in the same center back in 2012, so it feels like coming home again.” He continues, “The sentiment behind this new concept stems from my love for dry-aged steaks, the rich tapestry of New Orleans culture and an unforgettable trip taken alongside some of my close restaurateur friends Julian Barsotti and Greg Katz early in my career. Jack & Harry’s is a restaurant I’ve wanted to open for many years, so I am happy it’s finally come to fruition.”

The interior within the 5,000-square-foot space transports guests to a place with an intimate scale, rich in detail, and layered in history as the building it occupies dates back to 1945.

Lacquered wood floors are paired with cherry wood paneling, imported New Orleans brick and accented with antique Charleston lanterns and aged brass. The space is layered with equestrian artwork and antique furniture.

The culinary program at Jack & Harry’s is anchored by a selection of prime and dry-aged steaks. This unique-to-Dallas menu features spins on the classic steakhouse ‘filet dinner’—best represented by the French Onion Filet, the 28 Day Dry-Aged Delmonico, and the Napoleon Filet Mignon, topped with Seared Foie Gras and Bordelaise. Items such as Rue Street Gumbo, Chicken Française, and Oysters St. Claude serve as highlights, while the coastal necessities of Snapper and Flounder are offered pan-fried or broiled. Accompaniments include Carolina Coleslaw, Golden Tallow French Fries, and Crayfish Mac & Cheese.

The bar at Jack & Harry’s is a warm and intimate space with turn-of-the-century character. Designed for guests to casually enjoy Bourbon Street inspired cocktails and a French-forward wine list in a welcoming and warm atmosphere Monday through Sunday.

The drink menu offers cocktails such as the Smoked Olive Martini, New Orleans Gin Fizz, Hemingway Daiquiri, Sazerac, and French Martini. Wine is available by the glass with an emphasis on French wine.

Pond closes by saying. “ I think this restaurant is a nice complement to the surrounding businesses and other restaurants we have in this wonderful family-friendly center. We are looking forward to welcoming our neighbors and look forward to showcasing our own interpretation of a bit of New Orleans for Dallas diners.”

Jack & Harry’s will be open from 4 pm – 10 pm Sunday – Thursday and 4 pm – 11 pm Friday and Saturday. Happy Hour is offered from 4 – 6 pm Monday-Friday at the bar. Extended hours and lunch and brunch will be added at a later date.
