Its anniversary falls the day after Christmas, Dec. 26, and chef and owner Mo Assi calls the accomplishment “a huge milestone”.

“I never wanted to open a restaurant, I’ve always wanted to create a brand,” he told What Now Dallas. “We have the right team around us to have gotten here.”

With the original restaurant location at 11445 Dallas Pkwy. in Parkway Towne Crossing, the modern taco shop is planning a second Frisco location with a January 2022 target date. It will be at 360 Stonebrook Pkwy., and occupy suite 100.

Construction is ongoing, but Assi did share that the new location will include a patio, an outdoor vibe that guests are sure to enjoy as they sip on the restaurant’s signature frozen tequila margaritas.

Assi says the second location pays homage to “deep roots” in Frisco. “My whole plan was that I would start expanding the brand within that five-year mark,” he said in a statement to Community Impact. “This is the first step into that.”

Crush Taco has plans to expand to Plano, Allen, McKinney and even beyond: think Arlington, Fort Worth. But Frisco will always be its home base. “As we grow the concept, it’s very important to stay in close radius to the first location from an operation and growth standpoint,” he shared.

Assi has participated on Guy’s Grocery Games on the Food Network, taught cooking classes, and been called one of the best chefs in Texas by Food & Wine.

Crush Taco’s menu features a variety of gourmet tacos such as Fried Chicken Elotes and Cornflake Crusted Shrimp, as well as house frozen tequila margaritas, local beers, and specialty sodas. The restaurant also offers catering and online ordering.
