Tender Smokehouse to Open in Van Alstyne

A family-owned Texas barbecue restaurant that has several locations across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex appears to be opening another spot, this time in Van Alstyne. Tender Smokehouse currently serves diners in Aubrey, Celina, Frisco, and according to a recent project filing, the restaurant will open at 190 N. Main Dr. in Van Alstyne.

Tender Smokehouse offers diners handcrafted pit barbecue items in a relaxed environment. Meats can be purchased by the 1/4 pound, 1/2 pound, pound, or as a sandwich and include pulled pork, brisket, sausage, and turkey breast.

Diners can enjoy ribs, baked potatoes with or without meat, salads, and a selection of sides. Desserts include banana pudding and Mindy Lu Pies.

Founder Dante Ramirez has spent more than two decades in the catering and restaurant business. Ramirez has partnered with Audrea Weimer, Eddie Bell, and Torii and Katrina Hunter to grow Tender Smokehouse across DFW, according to the website. Tender Smokehouse is open five days a week, Tuesday-Saturday, “to allow staff to have balanced family time.”

Tender Smokehouse is expected to open in a nearly 7,500-square-foot space in Van Alstyne sometime this fall, possibly in October, depending on permitting and construction.
