PLOMO Quesadillas recently opened its doors in Dallas at 1802 McMillan Ave, Dallas, TX 75206.
Originally founded at the University of Arkansas, PLOMO is a fast casual concept dedicated to serving Quesadillas and various sides such as the Queso and Chorizo Mac & Cheese. The menu features classic latin flavors as well as unique items such as the Vasquez, a Caribbean Jerked Chicken Quesadilla, and the El Padrino, a spicy steak quesadilla that features Spicy Nacho Doritos. Guests also have the option to “Make it Dirty” and add a crispy layer of cheese on the outside of their quesadilla. The restaurant has two locations in its hometown of Fayetteville AR and serves food until 3AM on the weekends.
“We like to say all great nights end at PLOMO.” Omar Kasim, founder of PLOMO said in a statement, ”whether guests are coming back from a concert or a night out at the bars, PLOMO is that after hours spot that you can end at and recap the night over an enjoyable meal.”
The concept started as a side hustle in 2019 for Kasim to make some additional money on the weekends. At night on the weekends Kasim would use the kitchen of his Juice Bar to serve Quesadillas out the backdoor to customers roaming Dickson St, Fayetteville’s popular entertainment district. During the Pandemic, the concept quickly grew in popularity due to the grab-n-go nature of the concept and in August of 2020 Kasim opened a full brick and motor and eventually began to sell upwards of 1,600 quesadillas a night.
“I would have never expected the success we’ve had. It was an overnight success that took 6 years to happen.”
The Restaurant began looking to expand and eventually landed on Knox-Henderson neighborhood in Dallas as its next home.
“A lot of our customers graduate and then move to Dallas for work, so there’s a lot of people that are familiar with our brand. It also helps that the Arkansas Alumni Bar, Knox St Pub, is directly across the street from us as well.”
PLOMO Quesadillas is a fast-casual restaurant focused on serving Delicious Quesadillas. The Restaurant features three locations and is solely owned and operated by Omar Kasim.
PLOMO Quesadillas is open 7 days from 11a to midnight and until 4AM Thursday through Saturday. The Restaurant is located at 1802 Mcmillan Ave next to Houndstooth Coffee and High Fives.
