Fresh beignets, coffee, and a variety of other tasty options are coming soon to Irving. PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans is expected to open in late 2022 or early 2023, depending on potential labor and supply shortages.
The Irving storefront will be the first franchise location for Jacqueline Nguyen, but she told What Now Dallas she has signed up to open additional locations with Arlington next on the list.
During the Pandemic, Nguyen frequented another local PJ’s Coffee location. “My family and I, we love their coffee, and my kids love their beignets,” Nguyen shared. “I was very impressed with the quality, and the customer service, and the items they had available.”
Nguyen’s daughter expressed interest and asked her if they could open a PJ’s Coffee to sell beignets. “Everyone wants to invest in something, why not invest in a business? Especially a business you believe in, so here we are,” Nguyen said.
Nguyen’s husband grew up near New Orleans, so they enjoy beignets. “We continually came back and ate PJ’s. Their beignets were just so light and fluffy, and they were consistent every single time.” Nguyen said PJ’s Coffee plans to offer stuffed beignets with a variety of fillings.
The menu features other pastries such as cinnamon rolls, croissants, and cookies. Breakfast and lunch sandwich options, as well as coffee, espresso, tea, and blended and frozen drinks are also available.
The newest DFW PJ’s Coffee will be located at 3575 Story Road West in Irving. “I’m really excited,” Nguyen said. “I think everyone will really like it. I have three kids, and they each have their own quirky taste, but there is something for everyone at PJ’s in my family.”
