McKinney Planned Home of Black Rock Coffee Bar

Fall 2023 could be when this coffee shop will begin offering menu items.

A national coffee chain founded in Portland, Oregon back in 2008 is making a move into McKinney. Black Rock Coffee Bar is expected to open in a 1,600-square-foot space at 5101 McKinney Ranch Pkwy., Ste. 100 in McKinney. According to a project filing, construction could begin early this summer and be complete by fall of 2023.

The Black Rock menu features hot or iced premium roasted coffees. Some favorites include Caramel Blondie, Irish Coffee, and Mexican Mocha. Teas, smoothies, and flavorful Fuel energy drinks are also offered.

With about 120 stores across seven states, Black Rock is expanding across the state of Texas with new locations popping up in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and in the Houston area.

According to the Black Rock website, three principles guide the coffee chain. They include coffee, community, and connection. Black Rock provides opportunities for young people to learn how to lead, run a business, and develop people skills.
