It appears Jersey Mike’s Subs is adding a location in Plano. According to a recent project filing, the latest addition to the sandwich franchise will be located at 3100 Independence Pkwy., Unit 102B in Plano and could start serving fresh subs next spring.
The subs come in different sizes to curb any appetite. The concept of Jersey Mike’s Subs started in New Jersey as Mike’s Subs back in 1956. According to the Jersey Mike’s website, Mike knew his customers by name, as well as their sandwich favorites, so the business thrived.
Peter Cancro started working at Mike’s Subs at 14, and as a 17-year-old, Cancro heard Mike talk about wanting to sell the business. Cancro got a loan from his football coach to buy the place, built the business, and started franchising as Jersey Mike’s Subs in 1987. The business has grown to include more than 2,000 locations open and under development.
Jersey Mike’s has dozens of locations across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex including several that are currently in operation in Plano.
