An Oklahoma-based pizza restaurant that has been baking up pies since 1957 is moving into the Texas market. Hideaway Pizza’s first three spots planned for the Lone Star State will be located in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
Growth in the Dallas area is what drove Hideaway Pizza to move into the Texas market. “There are many people familiar with our brand from the area, and they will be our early brand ambassadors!” said Brett Murphy, co-owner of Hideaway Pizza. “We are excited about the market opportunities. We’ll be busy developing in DFW and in north Texas for the next 10 years.”
Two locations have been confirmed by Hideaway Pizza. One will be located at 2101 N. Hardin Blvd. in McKinney and is expected to open in early 2024. The second will be located at Preston Rd. and TX Hwy. 121 in Plano and is expected to open after the McKinney spot opens its doors. A third is planned for Fort Worth, and Hideaway Pizza is looking for additional opportunities.
“The pizza casual dining space has been vacated by competitors chasing delivery and quick dining. Hideaway offers premium pizza and fantastic dine-in experience that you can’t find anywhere else,” Murphy told What Now Dallas in an email.
Starters include fried mushrooms, meatballs, and garlic cheesy bread. You can build your own pizza or choose from a variety of specialty pizzas—the Sicilian, Veggie Combo, or the Paradise Pie with alfredo sauce, grilled chicken, smoked bacon, and other toppings. Sandwiches, pastas, and salads are also options, plus a variety of desserts.
Murphy and Darren Lister purchased Hideaway Pizza in 2006 and have been instrumental the brand’s growth. Hideaway Pizza now has nearly two dozen locations across Oklahoma and Arkansas.
