Co-owners Liliam Morin and her husband, Miquelin Herrera, initially hoped to open the restaurant by the end of December, but they are still waiting on permitting. “We’re shooting for January,” Morin said.

The Lolas food truck will continue to operate at 118 N. Henderson St. in Fort Worth for some time, but eventually, they plan to move it to another location. “We think we need to put some distance because it’s only like 15 minutes away from the restaurant,” Morin said.

Morin told What Now Dallas that they get a lot of requests for menu items that they can’t offer in the food truck because of the space, so at the restaurant, they’ll be able to offer more options. “With the restaurant, we’re trying to serve all those customers, those requests, desserts, and the drinks. We’re trying to offer mojitos and sell alcohol, too.”

They are in the process of finalizing the restaurant menu, but at the food truck, Lolas offers meals of rice, salad, and a protein—fried chicken, roasted pork, shredded beef, and more. Sandwiches include Cuban burger, Cuban sandwich, and the pork steak sandwich. Sides of rice, fried plantains, yucca, and French fries are also options.

Many customers enjoy the music at the food truck, so they plan to eventually offer live music at the restaurant on Fridays and Saturdays.

This will be the first brick-and-mortar location for Lolas Cuban Food. “We’re very excited about that,” Morin said.
