Mercer Boardwalk, Farmers Branch’s massive new entertainment district at LBJ and Luna Road, will host a grand opening on Thursday, Nov. 2 as the first three dining destinations open their doors in time for a Dia de los Muertos bash.

The event celebrates the openings of Barrel & Bones Craft Bar and Smokehouse, Black Agave Cocina y Cantina and Dough Bro’s To Go.
The party will begin at 5 p.m., when restaurant owners, members of the development team and city officials from Farmers Branch officially cut the ribbon opening Mercer Boardwalk.
Beginning at 5:30 p.m., there will be food and beverage sampling from all three concepts, with additional beverages available for purchase. Guests will enjoy themed entertainment, including a Calavera face painter, sugar skull stilt walkers, a strolling beer burro and more. Make sure to snap a selfie in front of the traditional Day of the Dead ofrenda.
Then the party amps up at 6:30 when party band 80s Mix Tape takes to the outdoor stage. Attendance is free at the Grand Opening, but organizers are requesting RSVPs. The festivities continue through the weekend with Big City Outlaws performing country favorites on Saturday, Nov. 4.
Mercer Boardwalk will feature eight or more dining destinations when the 62,378-square-foot development is complete.
Mercer Boardwalk is adjacent to Mercer Crossing, a multi-phase development of single-family, multi-family and commercial space spanning 370 acres in Farmers Branch. The development is expanding with a new section that will include 69 townhomes in early 2024 as well as the future city-owned park. In addition, there are approximately 100,000 square feet of office space, several amenity centers, ample open space and walking paths.
