“Our flagship Drunken Oyster opened in Amarillo in 2017,” Schepisi told What Now Dallas. “The guests there really enjoyed how it transported them to another place, and we hope to do that here. The gas lanterns, brick walls, iron gates, velvet curtains – it’s like an oyster bar in the 1930s French Quarter.”

She told What Now Dallas that the restaurant’s oysters are flown in daily from the east and west  coasts and Canada. But seafood isn’t all it has to offer. “We really take pride in our steaks. It’s not just seafood. We also serve prime certified Angus beef.” Chef Schepisi also highlighted the restaurant’s absinthe bar, a unique experience seldom found elsewhere. “We tell people to come by and have oysters and experience ‘the green fairy’.”

In addition to serving up fresh flavors, the Drunken Oyster will be a hub of entertainment. “We will feature live jazz, blues, and different types of entertainment during the week, with live jazz brunch on Saturdays and Sundays,” Schepisi told What Now Dallas. “And then of course because our whole theme is New Orleans, which is known for its celebrations, we will have jazz-drag brunches, which has been a fun deal to do.” Chef Schepisi is the founder and CEO of Forking Good Hospitality Restaurant group.

According to the website, she opened her first restaurant at the age of 20, and has since grown into a culinary leader appearing as a finalist Food Network’s Food Network Star, the Today Show, Rachel Ray and Dr. Oz.
