The shop’s motto, “Drink Coffee, Change Lives” denotes their structure that continually allocates profits to empower local communities, as well as provide clean water, shelter and education to families in need and support churches in the countries the shop sources from, including Mexico, Honduras and Guatemala.
“Hope Coffee really exists to not only bring great coffee to different communities, but also to use our profit to support people in the countries we source from,” Masters said. “We are one of those odd companies that don’t accept tips. Customers can choose to donate to some of the causes we support, to provide roofs, water filtration systems, and crucial needs like that.”
Masters said the Melissa location will mirror the existing shop in Sunnyvale, Texas in that it will serve made-to-order breakfast tacos and sandwiches, in addition to beverages. Masters told What Now Dallas that the pad has been poured, and construction of the shop, including a green-space — or patio — is expected to complete in time for a summer opening in 2024.
