Doce Mesas debuted in Dallas in 2018. This was a step forward from Rodgriguez’ initial smaller endeavor which had only 12 tables. If your Spanish is up to snuff, you’ll recognize these origins as the inspiration behind his current restaurant’s name.
According to the website, “Doce Mesas is a return to his roots. Armed with a passion for food and a penchant for service, this is his best one yet.”
The vibe is self-described as California coastal, with indoor-outdoor flow and a level of service that is both upscale and accessible to all. In addition to locally renown margaritas, the menu includes fresh takes on Mexican and Tex-Mex dishes like ceviche, tacos, enchiladas, and house specialties like the Double J Homestyle — an oven roasted chicken served with roasted potatoes, vegetables and red rice.
