Velvet Taco, the Dallas-based national taco brand known for its funky tacos and international flavors, has launched its first online merchandise store – Velvet Merch.
If you consider yourself a fan, you can now buy some branded swag for yourself or send a gift to family and friends through the brand’s online store.
For the 11 years that Velvet Taco has been in existence, the only way fans could receive merch was through social media swag giveaways and event promo handouts. But, no longer! Now anyone can purchase apparel, gifts, and accessories whenever they want.
Velvet Merch will primarily feature high demand items to start – from branded t-shirts to stickers to backpacks. Prices range from $2.50 for stickers to $60 for computer bags.
“Our fans are incredibly loyal and critical to our success. For years they have been asking how they can purchase Velvet Taco swag,” marketing director Cassie Cooper said in a release. “This program is for them. We did not markup products with a high price tag with the thought that everyone should be rocking some Velvet swag. The merch store is also about creating experiences that are as delicious as they are memorable.”
Fans can expect to see exclusive, limited time products when seasons, holidays and other special events roll around. Velvet Merch will also be used to reward and recognize team members – or as the brand calls them, Tribe Members.
Founded in 2011, the first funky taco spot opened in Dallas’s Knox-Henderson and the brand has since grown to 30 locations with more in the works. Most of those locations are in Texas, but there are also restaurants in Georgia, Illinois, North Carolina, Oklahoma and Tennessee.
The brand has two new Velvet Taco locations in the works for North Texas. One is coming to Grandscape in The Colony at 5350 Nebraska Furniture Mart Dr. The other will open in Grapevine at 440 W State Hwy 114. Exact opening dates have not yet been announced, but both locations are expected to open later this year.
