Paying homage to Britain’s Lord Rayleigh, the pioneer of acoustics and light wave scattering, the 38,000 square foot venue at the Toyota Music Factory integrates light, sound, and color into every aspect of the guest experience. An underground vibe comes from The Rayleigh Underground’s location, tucked under the nearby Live Nation Pavilion’s amphitheater lawn. In addition to the theater, the venue has expansive indoor and outdoor dining spaces on two levels, six bars, including two VIP bars, and three flexible private dining spaces on the second level.

Owned and operated by Kim Forsythe, CEO of Restaurant Expert Management, the Rayleigh Underground combines Roman amphitheater aesthetics with modern technology, providing a dynamic space for live performances such as concerts, comedy shows, and speakers. Forsythe, a Dallas local with a 32-year track record in the hospitality industry, expressed his delight in bringing the innovative venue to fruition, saying in a statement, “The Rayleigh Underground stands as a testament to architectural creativity, offering a unique entertainment experience with trend-setting food and beverage menus and exceptional service to the guest.”

The Rayleigh’s theater marries cutting-edge technology with an underground ambiance, greeting guests with sheer rock walls accented by pops of colorful lighting. State-of-the-art light and audio capabilities provide an immersive experience for its audience. With a capacity of 1,100 guests, the venue boasts a plug-and-play setup for talent as well as for corporate and private events. In addition to the light and audio capabilities, it boasts an 18′ x 50′ stage, a central 36′ x 18′ Absen 2.9 pitch video wall, and multiple interactive LED screens.

Initially offering dinner service, The Rayleigh’s menu showcases a fusion of flavors inspired by Pacific Rim countries, blending Thai, Hawaiian, East Indian, and Californian influences. Highlights include Pacific Rim Steak Bites, Tuna Poke Martini, Braised Pork Belly, Korean Fried Chicken Bao Buns, Scallop Risotto, Lamb Korma, Smoked Chile Salmon, and a Texan-worthy Cowboy Ribeye. Desserts like Sweet & Crispy Wonton Millefeuille and White Wine Poached Pear round out the culinary experience.

The Rayleigh Underground is located at 316 Las Colinas Blvd. W, Suite 100, Irving, TX 75039 in The Toyota Music Factory at Highway 114 and O’Conner, just 12 minutes from DFW Airport. Hours of operation: Tuesday thru Thursday 5:00-10:00, Friday and Saturday from 5:00 to 12:00. Closed Mondays.
