J.R. Munoz’ newest creation, The Other Side of Good Pizza, is under construction on Elm Street, he confirmed with What Now Dallas.
Though Munoz was unable to offer a specific open date, or any more information at this juncture, a recent filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation estimates a completion date in early 2024 for the remodel of the 2,298-square-foot space at 2538 Elm Street in Dallas.
The Other Side of Good Pizza does not yet have a website or social media platforms, but if the restaurateur’s past accomplishments are any indication, it will be a smashing success. Munoz’ previous work includes Will Call Bar, a classic sports-bar in Deep Ellum, as well as the country-music-playing dive, Elm St. Saloon.
Munoz previously gave D Magazine a look into his approach, “Before I owned my own stuff, I worked in the nightclub business, where you’re hot for two years and then you go on to the next place…But I learned from all those different concepts. I don’t want to be big all at once and then just die. I’d rather be slow and steady. I’d rather be cool for 10 years and last.”
