The 701 along West Magnolia Ave. in Fort Worth will feature a new restaurant concept from Chef Marcus Paslay, the chef behind Piattello Italian Kitchen and Clay Pigeon.
Walloon’s, the new seafood-focused American grill, is set to open in the summer of 2023. Walloon’s will invoke old-world charm as it creates a unique blend of Southern food with a coastal spirit.
“I’m excited to finally be in the Near Southside and create a restaurant that fits the eclectic and cool vibe of the district,” said Paslay, owner and operator of From Scratch Hospitality.
“We never start with a restaurant concept and try to find a home. Instead, we discover a neighborhood we want to be a part of and develop a concept to complement the existing people and tastes,” Paslay continued. “I believe that Walloon’s will do just that. It will bring a mixture of fresh quality food in a laid-back environment where everyone feels like a regular, with a spot created just for them. We’re psyched about bringing The Near Southside some From Scratch Hospitality.”
Walloon’s will be located on the ground floor of The 701 development at West Magnolia and Hemphill. “We’ve had our eye on this neighborhood for quite some time and wanted to become a part of the growing community,” Paslay said.
The 701 is a historical, 68,000-square-foot, mixed-use development that will house Walloon’s as well as offices for VLK Architects, and space for shopping, business, real estate, and medical offices. Dodson Commercial Real Estate is developing The 701, which will also include a 200-space parking garage.
