A new restaurant concept from Jon Alexis’ Imperial Fizz Hospitality, known for TJ’s Seafood, Escondido Tex Mex, and Ramble Room, will open in Dallas in early winter of 2023. Birdie’s Eastside will take over the former Luby’s at 6221 E Mockingbird Ln.

“Owning this property gives us a unique opportunity – we can build a neighborhood institution for decades. We hope to be in the background of your happiest East Dallas memories,” Alexis said in a press release.
The Birdie’s Eastside space will offer indoor dining for more than 250 people, plus a 7,000-square-foot, tree-filled patio with a fire pit and rotating patio games. “We custom designed a roof to extend around the mature trees, creating a massive covered patio,” Alexis explained. Youngsters can take advantage of a turfed area to play.
An “adults only” lounge will offer a large selection of local craft beers, wine, frozen drinks, and rare whiskeys. The menu will feature casual but scratch made bar and grill food with an emphasis on family favorites and healthy options. Birdie’s Eastside Culinary Director Stan Rodrigues will offer a menu of shareable appetizers such as wings, edamame hummus, and fresh-baked flatbreads. Salads, sandwiches, burgers, wraps, pastas, and “knife & fork entrees” will also be available.
“Our East Dallas friends tell us they are tired of restaurant lines for dinner. We hope to give the neighborhood a ‘no-wait’ option,” Alexis continued. “Birdie’s is just like East Dallas. Casually Texan, a little boho, super comfy, and easy going.”
