Vuong Nguyen co-owns Nautical Bowls at 1301 Keller Pkwy., Ste. 400 in Keller with his friend, Nam Nguyen. Construction is moving along and could be complete by the end of this month. Vuong hopes to open to the public by mid-February.

Signature Bowls include The Nauti Bowl, Anchor Bowl, and Blue Bay Bowl, which includes blue majik, acai, coconut, spirulina chia, granola, banana, strawberries, and coconut butter crumbles.

You can also create your own bowl starting with a base—pitaya, mango, coconut, blue majik, acai, or chia pudding. You can then choose from a variety of toppings including cacao nibs, almonds, granola, fruit, a drizzle of honey, or other offerings.

“We picked Keller because it’s on the main street, and a lot of people there are very athletic. They’re very active,” Vuong told What Now Dallas. “People can get fast, healthy foods.”

The Nautical Bowls menu is gluten-free, dairy-free, plant-based, soy-free, and contains zero-refined sugar. “It is made from organic ingredients, all-natural ingredients,” Vuong said. The bowls are packed with vitamins and nutrients. “Ours is more of like sorbet-based,” Vuong said, “so the consistency is like an ice cream but with all the healthy ingredients in there.”

Vuong said they would eventually like to open more Nautical Bowls in North Texas, possibly in Fort Worth and Dallas. He added that opening a new business has been a little overwhelming with the paperwork and coordinating with the general contractor and the city. “So far, it’s been extremely fun and a good learning process.”
