A new Mamaka Bowls location looks to be in the words at 4620 McKinney Avenue. The health food restaurant offers smoothie bowls, smoothies, coffees and breakfast tacos already in College Station, Fort Worth, Houston, Waco, as well as a location in Norman, Oklahoma and Fayetteville, Arkansas.
According to the website, Mamaka — derived from a combination of family founders’ names — began when KK and Carrie spent a summer in Laguna Beach, eating açaí bowls on the regular. After returning home to Dallas, the duo’s recipe experiments quickly grew into the delivery of 40+ bowls to KK’s school per lunch period. Fast forward a few years, the family had spread the demand of the delicious bowls around Fayetteville, and they signed the lease on their first official location.
According to the website, “KK & Carrie believe that life is better when it’s lived in courderoy shorts by the beach, that laughter and salty air is better than most things and being a free spirit is a dang good thing. They strive to combine that mindset with their love of acai to create the perfect bowl.” They invite others to “live a life well-lived”, which in their opinion, might very well start with a Mamaka Bowl.
Mamaka Bowl’s extensive menu offers customers 16+ specialty creations that can be made into either a bowl or smoothie, plus nearly 20 add-ons like fresh fruit, cacao nibs, spiraling, mama powder, granola, and the list goes on. The chain’s instagram shows colorful creations like Turmeric and Ginger and a Golden Bowl which blends banana, pineapple, almond milk, turmeric, ginger and mango, topped with homemade granola, strawberry, banana and blueberries.
