The McKinney spot will be the first Parlor Doughnuts for the Houstons. “We’re super excited. We have a few businesses in Panama City Beach, Florida, and everyone in the town was talking about this new doughnut shop that was open. So, we went to try it out, and we fell in love with it as soon as we bit into it,” Miranda told What Now Dallas. The Houstons did a little research about the franchise and started down the path to open their first location at 5100 Stacy Rd., #950 in McKinney.
The space is an empty shell and will undergo a complete buildout. Miranda said the architect recently completed the design, so once the city signs off on it and construction begins, they hope to open at the end of May or in early June. The couple has the franchise rights to Collin County, and they hope to open other Parlor Doughnuts locations in Frisco, Allen, and Plano after the McKinney storefront opens.
The craft doughnut and coffee shop offers layered doughnuts that are made “with layers of buttery dough fried to be crisp on the outside and light/fluffy on the inside,” stated the Parlor Doughnuts website. Small batches are made each day.
Some of the top sellers are Maple Bacon, French Toast, and Campfire, which is like a S’Mores. “There are just so many different ones,” Miranda said. Besides the layered doughnuts, breakfast sandwiches and tacos, coffees, and juices are available. Vegan, gluten-friendly, and keto-friendly products are also offered.
