Located on the corner of Magnolia Ave and Hemphill, Paris Coffee Shop has been under extensive restoration since September 2021. But the work is now coming to an end and its owners – a team that includes chef/restaurateur Lou Lambert, managing partner Chris Reale, and developer Mark Harris – are hoping to reopen the café sometime in May.

While the legendary cafe has new owners and updated digs, those familiar with the establishment, will be pleased to know that its history and much of its original design has been preserved.

“…everything is new, but when people walk in, it’s going to feel familiar,” Reale told PaperCity Magazine.

Much of the renovation work involved back of house and won’t be seen by guests. But the upgrades that will be seen are sure to be welcomed. An exterior wall mural by local artist Bo Powell is no longer there. But, otherwise, the café has almost been brought back to its original look with fresh paint, wood detailing, and new tile. Eventually, the owners will find a Fort Worth artist to paint a new mural on one of the building’s interior walls and install a rotating art exhibit spotlighting the work of local artists.

Menu-wise, Lambert says guests can expect old favorites, along with new expanded offerings like chicken-fried steak and chicken and dumplings. Classic breakfast offerings will include bacon, egg, waffle and pancake plates. For lunch and dinner, there will be fried chicken, steak and fish.

House-made pies, cocktails, wine and beer will also be available.

Paris is at 704 W Magnolia Ave.
