With two successful Hurtado Barbecue locations under his belt, owner Brandon Hurtado is now bringing his Tex-Mex style craft barbecue to Fort Worth. Hurtado told What Now Dallas he doesn’t have to do much to get the space ready and hopes to open the third location for Hurtado Barbecue at 1116 8th Ave. in Fort Worth this October if not sooner.

“I think it’s a great opportunity to expand our brand and get our food out in front of more people, a completely different customer base that maybe doesn’t want to travel to Arlington or Little Elm. It’s a huge blessing for our family and our employees,” Hurtado said.

Hurtado began cooking barbecue in their backyard, later began serving out of a food truck, and then opened their first brick-and-mortar in Arlington in February 2020 without investors or partners. Hurtado Barbecue is currently in operation at 205 E. Front St. in Arlington and at 100 Hardwicke Ln. in Little Elm.

“It’s a menu that’s fueled by passion for what we do and a lot of it has menu items that originated from my childhood and things that I grew up eating,” Hurtado shared.

The menu features large plates of ribs, house sausage, brisket, smoked turkey, pork belly burnt ends, and more. And don’t forget the sides! Hatch Chile Mac ‘N Cheese, Smoked Elote, and Baked Potato Salad are just a few examples of tasty sides that pair well with your selection of meats. Tortillas are also available.

“When you come here, you’re not supporting a chain restaurant. You’re supporting a local family-owned business that has food that is inspired by our passion for barbecue.”

The new Fort Worth location will offer beer and wine, as does the restaurant in Arlington. The Little Elm restaurant features a full bar.
