Goodwin’s and Goose Bar are expected to open on Greenville Avenue in April, replacing the long-beloved Dallas staple, Blue Goose Cantina Mexican Restaurant. Goodwin’s is owned by Jeff Bekavac who is also the executive chef, along with Austin Rogers, owner of the Alamo Club, and David Cash, owner of the Smoky Rose

Bringing his America-style background to the concept, Bekavac told What Now Dallas, “The Blue Goose will be a second bar within Goodwin’s, but the restaurant itself will be very much a neighborhood bistro with food that is approachable and enjoyable for all occasions, not just the fancy ones.”

Bekavac expressed the owners’ desire for Goodwin’s to be an approachable destination for east Dallas, meaning that it is fitting for all occasions — a night cap, a quick app, and an overall comfortable and stylish place to share a meal with friends.

“We will have a nice raw bar menu with oysters, tuna cones, raw seafood, bar snacks, straightforward bistro fare, and fish and chicken dishes,” Bekavac said. He said it’s less of a “beer and shot” type of place, and more of a destination for people to enjoy a beautifully made martini or other quality cocktails.

Dallas interior design innovators, Foxcroft Studio is bringing Goodwin’s to life with what Bekavac described as “a classic New York bistro feel” featuring antique mirrors, a lot of wood, comfortable leather booths, a large brass bar, and general “warm feel.”
