The Fort Worth brand will open its second location in the heart of the River District at 4854 White Settlement Rd.

“We are planning to open in April,” Jennifer Demel told What Now Dallas, citing setbacks with supply chain issues. Demel, along with her husband, are the owners of Lazy Daisy Coffee and Thirty Eight & Vine, an upscale casual Fort Worth wine bar.

Lazy Daisy’s second location has been in the works since summer 2021. Fort Worth Magazine originally reported that it was going to open by the end of last year. That didn’t happen, but with its funky décor, thoughtfully crafted coffee, and displays from local artists, those who know and love Lazy Daisy – and even those who don’t yet – are sure to see the wait as worth it.

“We will have an outdoor space and the décor is going to be incredible,” Demel shared. “We have some exciting plans for 2022 and the River District location that we cannot wait to announce.”

First opened in February 2020, Lazy Daisy was just getting started and building up a customer base when COVID-19 forced many eateries to shut down either temporarily or permanently. But Demel feels that opening right before the pandemic hit helped ease the blow. “We then worked from a coffee cart and stand selling cold brew, lattes, bags of coffee,” she said.

It wasn’t until the beginning of 2021 where she felt Lazy Daisy really had an opportunity to expand and grow connections within the coffee community.

“We had begun talks with the River District location prior to the shutdown. When we were able to fully re-open in the Spring of 2021 and saw that the location remained available, we knew we wanted to move forward with opening a second location,” Demel said. “The River District is such an incredible area and we cannot wait to be a part of it.”

The second location is almost twice the size of the original, features plenty of windows to let in natural light, and can seat more guests. It will also feature a U-shaped bar where Lazy Daisy baristas can interact intentionally with guests. In a city that is home to a plethora of coffee companies and shops, Lazy Daisy’s mission of encouraging “down-to-earth and diverse connections” has really set it apart.

The menu of the second location will be similar to the original, with a slight expansion to include items such as smoothies and acai bowls.

Coffees include espressos, Americanos, cappuccinos, lattes and cold brews. Specialty drinks include “honey bee” – the brand’s signature latte with house made honey syrup and warming spices, as well as “holly blue” – a spritzer made with butterfly pea powder, Topo Chico, lemon juice, and simple syrup.

The brand also sells specialty small-batch coffee by the bag from Superthing Coffee Roasters out of Austin.

Named Best New Coffee Shop on Fort Worth Magazine‘s Best of 2021 list, Lazy Daisy’s original location is open in Wild Acre Camp Bowie at 6475 Camp Bowie Blvd.
