A restaurant concept from Omaha, Nebraska-based Flagship Restaurant Group will open in Fort Worth’s The Shops at Clearfork.
Coming to 5289 Marathon Ave., Plank Seafood Provisions is aiming to open its new restaurant in late fall 2022. The space it is taking over was previously home to Twigs American Kitchen, an upscale casual New American restaurant that closed in 2020 due to the pandemic.
The forthcoming Plank restaurant to Fort Worth will be Flagship’s third location for the concept. The first opened in 2013 in the group’s home city of Omaha. The second opened in 2021 in Austin.
The menu at Plank Fort Worth will be similar to Plank Austin’s menu featuring seafood that is flown in fresh, an ever-changing oyster bar, craft cocktails and an extensive wine list. Guests can expect to enjoy such dishes as wood grilled Faroe Island Salmon or Yellowtail Sashimi in a bright, “elevated, yet whimsical” environment.
Sharing plates include gumbo croquette, buffalo octopus, brussels sprouts and pei mussels. A dreamy Seafood Tower features a selection of oysters, shrimp cocktail, mussels escabeche, yellowtail sashimi, and whitefish ceviche. There’s also soups, salads, dessert and don’t forget the drinks! There’s a Sea Foam Margarita – made with espolòn reposodo, mandarin, lime, agave nectar, and salt air – as well as a Pink Paloma and Strawberry Surfer. Happy Hour is offered from 3 PM to 6 PM on weekdays.
Flagship Restaurant Group is also behind Blue Sushi Sake Grill, Blatt Beer and Table, Flagship Commons, Roja Mexican Grill, Anthem, Revival House, and Ghost Donkey. New concepts, Cham Pang Lanes and Palma, are coming soon to Phoenix, Arizona.
Of all its brands, Blue Sushi is the largest and most popular. Texas’s first Blue Sushi restaurant opened in Fort Worth on W 7th St in 2010. Currently, there are two locations in Dallas – Preston Hollow Village and Uptown; one in Austin; and one that is in the works for Houston.
Flagship has plans to expand even further in the Lone Star State with more Blue Sushi and Plank restaurant openings, as well as some brand new American and Mediterranean restaurant concepts that are in the works. The group is also eyeing Dallas’s Deep Ellum to open an Anthem location – the Tex-Asian pub is currently open in Austin.
“We are looking to a sustained push in Texas over time,” Hogan told PaperCity Mag. “There has been a reset in the restaurant industry, and with that there’s a lot of opportunity.”
