Booker told What Now Dallas that he is looking to possibly open Bonchon in the Euless, Las Colinas, and Arlington areas. Arlington might be the first to open, possibly by the end of 2023.

Booker said they stumbled upon Bonchon while looking for something new to try. “We loved the atmosphere,” Booker said. “The customer service that we got from the restaurant and the food just blew my mind, so when an opportunity came up, we jumped right on it.”

Bonchon, which translates from Korean to English as “my hometown,” is known for its Korean fried chicken that is hand battered and double-fried to achieve its signature crunch. Each piece of chicken is hand brushed to make each bite perfectly flavorful.

The menu features Korean-fried traditional wings, boneless wings, and strips. Diners can start off with potstickers, sliders, pork buns, or Korean tacos, and then move on to Asian fusion cuisine and other Korean favorites. Bibimap, wraps, and Bulgogi, which is thinly-sliced beef, sauteed mushrooms, scallions, sesame seeds, and onions over white rice are options.

“We fought at the table for the Korean doughnuts,” Booker said. “Everyone enjoyed their food. The only complaint that they had for the food was that we should have ordered more.”

Booker previously owned a franchise for Bojangles in North Carolina. Because of his military duties in the U.S. Marine Corps, he moved on from that venture. Now, he’s focused on bringing three Bonchon locations to DFW.

“We’re super excited about it. I wish we could just open them all right now at the same time, but we’re working on it with a team diligently to move things along to get them open,” he shared.
