Snuffer’s, the restaurant and bar home of legendary burgers and famous original cheddar fries, is opening a second Rockwall location.
Coming to the NW quadrant of I-30 and Ridge Rd, it is expected to open near the end of 2022. The existing building was previously home to a Taco Cabana and renovation work to transform it into Snuffer’s will start in April.
Founded in 1978, Snuffer’s has quite the lengthy history. The first restaurant opened in Dallas’s Lower Greenville neighborhood (and if you’re into spooks and spirits, a good number of ghostly encounters have reportedly happened there). Its menu offers up classic fare – fresh burgers made with 100% ground chuck and cooked to order, cheddar fries made with hand-cut Idaho potato fries and topped with freshly grated aged Wisconsin cheddar cheese, and hand-breaded chicken strips that are fried to a golden perfection.
Over the years, the menu has expanded to include soup and salads, chicken sandwiches, and chili dogs. Besides its classic burger, Snuffer’s has a selection of specialty burgers including the Dr. Pepper BBQ bacon burger (yum!), a bacon guac cheeseburger, a mushroom Swiss cheeseburger and a patty melt.
Beer, seltzers, wine, margaritas and other specialty cocktails are also served.
Snuffer’s is currently open in Rockwall at 2901 Village Dr. The brand also has locations in Addison, Colleyville, Dallas, Greenville, Highland Village, Mesquite, Plano and Richardson.
Snuffer’s is owned by Dallas-based hospitality group Local Favorite Restaurants which also operates brands: El Fenix, Taqueria La Ventana, Village Burger Bar, Meso Maya, Wok Star, TorTaco and Sunrise Mexican Foods.
