According to a project filing, work is expected to begin on the new construction by the end of the month and be completed by May of next year. An estimated cost of $375,000 is attached to the 2,450-square-foot shop which will include a drive thru.

Denton was supposed to get an Einstein Bros. last year on its University of North Texas campus, but contractual issues, coupled by the pandemic, delayed its opening indefinitely. It is not clear if or when the campus shop will be finished. And while UNT students may not find the Teasley Lane location as convenient, the forthcoming bagel shop is sure to be a welcome addition to the city.

The closest Einstein Bros. to Denton are in Flower Mound and Coppell. The brand also has locations in Southlake, Frisco, Keller, Plano, and Carrollton.

Einstein Bros. is known for its bagels that are baked fresh daily and its “shmears,” flavorful spreads such as onion and chive, jalapeno salsa, and strawberry. While classic bagels like plain, everything, and cinnamon raisin are all on the menu, it has expanded to include signatures like asiago cheese and pretzel, as well as gourmet options such as jalapeno bacon, avocado toast, apple cinnamon, and cheesy hashbrown.

Breakfast and lunch sandwiches, brunch specials, hot and iced coffees, and smoothies are also available.

Einstein Bros., which consists of Einstein Bros. Bagels, Bruegger’s Bagels, Noah’s New York Bagels and Manhattan Bagel, operates more than 1,000 company-owned and licensed units across the U.S. It is a part of Panera Brands, one of the world’s largest fast casual restaurant companies that includes Panera Bread and Caribou Coffee.
