It’s all about the flavor and the experience at Yonutz, which is planning its first North Texas location. Yonutz Fantastical Donuts & Ice Cream currently has one location in operation in the Houston area with two others opening there soon. The newest Texas spot will open at 14902 Preston Rd. in Dallas.
Dallas Yonutz owner Bilu Warrier Raval confirmed the new North Texas storefront will be located at Beltline Rd. and Preston Rd. “It’s an easy place that you can reach.” They aim to open by the end of July, but the opening date depends on permitting and construction.
“What everybody loves about Yonutz is the taste,” she told What Now Dallas. Many people might think of donuts and then ice cream as separate treats. But, at Yonutz, a flavorful donut is cut in half, ice cream is added, and then it’s “smashed” in a waffle maker. A variety of flavorful toppings are then added to create the SMASH Donut. “It’s just fun.”
Bilu stumbled across Yonutz after seeing the brand’s founder and CEO Tony Bahu’s son, Angelo Bahu, discussing the brand. She was looking for a franchising opportunity, reached out to learn more, and went to the nearest location to try it out. “You put it in your mouth,” she said, “and it’s like a magical experience.”
Her favorite flavor is the Nutella Crunch. “It has a Nutella topping that makes it out of this world.” Other SMASH Donut flavors include Cookie Dough, Sour Candy, and Kinder Bueno. The menu features donuts filled with ice cream, miniature donuts, donuts, ice cream, and milkshakes.
“The franchise itself is very young, fun.” They can hire those ages 15 years and older and plan to make it a fun, family-friendly working environment. “I would love for everyone to come out and try it. It’s a very welcoming, genuine, high-energy environment.” Bilu plans to open 5-10 more locations across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and eastward.
