After making its debut in Dallas last year, it looks like sweetgreen is ready to build on its North Texas momentum with plans in place to open two new restaurants in the Dallas-Fort Worth area later this year.
The fast casual salad chain is set to open locations in Fort Worth and Southlake, per recent state project filings. The Fort Worth location will open at 1605 South University Dr, on the banks of the Trinity River and in close proximity to the TCU campus. It will take over a 2,120-square-foot space in WestBend that was previously home to East Hampton Sandwich Co.
The Southlake location will open at 1111 East Southlake Blvd in an existing 2,800-square-foot space in Park Village. The premium shopping mall is home to a mix of shops and restaurants including Gloria’s Latin Cuisine, Modern Market, Malai Kitchen and the recently opened dessert shop Cream and Crepes Café.
The healthy salad and bowl chain opened its first North Texas restaurant in November 2021 at 3636 McKinney Ave in Dallas’s West Village. A second Dallas restaurant quickly followed and opened in February 2022 at 2614 Main St in Deep Ellum.
“Dallas felt like a natural next step for us — the community is active, it’s home to great music and arts, and of course, has a thriving culinary scene,” co-founder and chief concept officer Nicolas Jammet said at the time of the West Village opening.
Founded in 2007 by Jammet, Nathaniel Ru, and Jonathan Neman, sweetgreen has branded itself as a mission-driven, next generation restaurant and lifestyle company aimed at connecting people to real food. Today, the brand has over 150 restaurants across the U.S. offering plant-forward, seasonal, and earth-friendly meals from fresh ingredients and produce.
Guests are able to build bowls and salads from a variety of fresh ingredients. Popular items include:
- Harvest Bowl – Roasted chicken, roasted sweet potatoes, apples, goat cheese, roasted almonds, warm wild rice, shredded kale, balsamic vinaigrette
- Kale Caesar – Roasted chicken, tomatoes, parmesan crisps, shaved parmesan, shredded kale, chopped romaine, lime squeeze, Caesar dressing
- Guacamole Greens – Roasted chicken, avocado, tomatoes, red onions, shredded cabbage, tortilla chips, spring mix, chopped romaine, lime squeeze, lime cilantro jalapeño vinaigrette
There’s also plate options like the Hot Honey Chicken that comes with roasted sweet potatoes, quinoa, and kale-cabbage slaw.
