Rise Southern Biscuits and Righteous Chicken is opening another location at 7064 Blue Mound Road in Fort Worth, according to a recent filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The filing estimates a completion date sometime around the first of September on what will be the restaurant’s twenty-sixth location, with others in North Carolina, California, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Maryland, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.
The chain serves “the best dang biscuits and beyond” with “plenty of soul on the side.” First opening in Durham in 2012, Rise has continued to expand its service of southern biscuits, chicken sandwiches, and combo boxes across the United States.
Fan favorites include fluffy, buttermilk and Cheddar biscuits, along with crispy bacon, fried green tomatoes and their famous “Righteous Chicken”. The website describes the process that awards the chicken that title — “it’s tenderized, brined in buttermilk, fried to golden-brown perfection and served on a biscuit, bun or as strips.”
Rise also has a sweet selection that includes Cinnamon Biscuit Rolls and Apple Fritters.
