A local shop that specializes in custom-made, to-go margaritas and daquiris is opening a new spot in Watauga. Mr. Froze Margarita co-owner Sam Lounnarath told What Now Dallas that they hope to open at 5620 Watauga Rd. in Watauga in late summer. Sam owns Mr. Froze Margarita with his wife, Celene Lounnarath.
The new construction for Mr. Froze Margarita will be about 8,600-square-feet with a food truck venue attached. “We’re working on trying to get an indoor playground for the kids. Our business is family-oriented even though we sell alcohol,” Sam said. He plans to negotiate with food trucks to rotate one to three at a time with various food options.
The Watauga spot will serve as their corporate location. Mr. Froze Margarita currently has two locations in operation—Arlington, which has video games and indoor seating for guests to bring in their own food, and Saginaw, which is drive-thru only.
“We wanted to do something a little bit bigger because eventually we’re going to possibly franchise these. We wanted to test this store out where it’s more of a covered playground where adults can hang out,” Sam explained. “Having a family-friendly venue to offer is exciting for me.”
Mr. Froze Margarita offers custom-made beverages including margaritas and daquiris in a number of flavors. Beer and Jello shots are also offered. The menu includes candy, chips, and ice cream for the younger guests plus two non-alcoholic drink flavors that rotate on the menu.
“We basically sell you the drinks in a container that has a cap, a lid, so we sell them to you sealed. You can consume them onsite, but if you don’t finish your drink and you want to leave, we will give you another cap to seal it,” Sam explained. Incentives are offered at each location that include a free drink for your birthday, plus a loyalty program that offers free drinks depending on money spent.
