A lease comp obtained by What Now Dallas has found that Waxahachie’s Mi Casa is moving to 2760 Venture Way. This is exciting news for its loyal guests, many of whom have missed eating there since the restaurant closed temporarily in July. Their original location was at 1200 Ferris Ave.

On Facebook, the restaurant acknowledged the move, saying, “We look forward to serving y’all at this new location. Opening day will be announced soon.”

The new location is part of the North Grove Business Park shopping center and strategically located off Hwy 77 along the city’s main retail corridor. Seeing that it is a high-traffic area with great frontage and visibility, it will no doubt bring in more business for the restaurant. Bahama Buck’s and Fat Daddy’s will be joining Mi Casa as restaurant neighbors. Fat Tuesday held its ribbon-cutting ceremony on September 9.

Founded by Oscar Garcia, the restaurant began as a way for him and his family to share their Oaxacan heritage, love of food, and unique cuisine to Waxahachie. Dedicated to promoting the ultimate Mexican experience, the Garcias aim to provide a homely atmosphere that allows customers to relax and enjoy a fulfilling meal after a long day in the outside world.

Despite its family-run local roots, Mi Casa has been making waves this year. In May, the restaurant made Yelp’s Top 100 Places to Eat in Texas for 2021 List. And in April, readers of Experience Dallas South chose the spot as a favorite for chips and salsa in Waxahachie.

The menu includes chicken fajitas, chicken enchiladas, coconut flans and refreshing margaritas.
