Van Leeuwen Ice Cream is planned for 8061 Walnut Hill Lane at The Hill Shopping Center, according to plans filed with the state. The projected cost of construction on the 1,198-square-foot space is $380,000, according to the planning documents. The estimated completion date for the work is March 2025.
According to a site map, the ice cream shop would be located in a corner space next to Civil Pour Coffee + Beer.
This would be the fourth Van Leeuwen shop in Dallas and the eighth in Texas overall. The company also has locations in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, California, Colorado, Washington, D.C., and Massachusetts, with expansion to Florida in the works.
Founded by brothers Ben and Pete Van Leeuwen and Laura O’Neill, Van Leeuwen Ice Cream began as a truck in New York City in 2008. Van Leeuwen offers a lineup of dairy and vegan ice cream, including seasonal varieties. Some current flavors: pumpkin cheesecake, blueberry jelly donut and carrot cake dulce de leche swirl.
In addition to the brick-and-mortar locations across the U.S., Van Leeuwen Ice Cream products can be found in grocery stores like Whole Foods and Sprouts.
