In 2020, Chimichurri opened in the Bishop Arts District, bringing authentic Argentinian grilled meats, empanadas, choripáns and other exciting fare to the vibrant neighborhood courtesy of chef Jesus Carmona. From its inception, Chimichurri honored traditional ingredients with creative accents, quickly becoming one of Dallas’s favorite Argentinian restaurants. Now, Chimichurri is set to unveil The Branca Room, an intimate speakeasy that celebrates the convergence of Argentine and Italian cultures.

The Branca Room is meant to become an intimate gathering space where all can enjoy the ceremonious celebration of the Argentine culture. Through various techniques and incorporation of seasonal ingredients, the menu incorporates both the past and present cultural influences by combining new techniques with refined and celebrated distillates that have been enjoyed for centuries. The Branca Room invites guests to immerse themselves in a world that is meant to create harmony and friendship.
Accomplished bartender James Slater created the cocktail menu with nods to classic and contemporary drink culture, including spirits that have been enjoyed in Argentina and Italy for centuries. Slater is joined by talented bartenders Giovanni Alafita and Lauren Wahlstrom, who contributed to the menu. The Branca Room is also taking the step to make its own amaro and vermouth, a meticulous process that results in drinks you can’t find anywhere else as well as the creation of Slater’s own version of Fernet-Branca which has been aged for 180 days.
The opening menu features 12 signature cocktails including the Garduña (Match scotch, Fernet-Branca, strawberry-balsamic reduction, lemon), Father Ernettis (Bombay Sapphire gin, Amaro, blackberry shrub, lemon, Topo Chico), and Order of the Foresters (Fernet-Branca, Green Chartreuse, Pisco Caravedo, pandan, lemon and basil).
Once a month, The Branca Room will host exclusive Bourbon Nights with rare and highly sought-after bottles for whiskey enthusiasts.
The Branca room is located at 324 W 7th Street in the Bishop Arts neighborhood of Oak Cliff. It will be open Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights from 7 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.
