The fast-casual concept will be blending its way into the hearts of hungry visitors in Terminal D at 2400 Aviation Drive. Smoothie King will be helmed by M2 Concepts, a group run by former NFL star Ray Mickens and his brother Leonard. The duo have established a considerable presence in airports, through a variety of franchises.

Paperwork filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation shows that work is set to commence on the eatery on March 24 of this year and to wrap on August 22 of 2025. Smoothie King, a healthier alternative for diners in a hurry, will be taking over a storefront previously occupied by a Pinkberry. The TLDR describes the features of the renovations as “new front counter millwork and finishes, new paint, new pendant lights.”

Founded in Louisiana in 1973, Smoothie King has expanded to a staggering 1300 worldwide storefronts. The chain has a simple but admirable goal. The company states it ethos on its website, saying : “We believe each day is filled with promise and possibility. And our purpose is to help you get the most out of it. That’s why each of our ingredients is chosen carefully, and every one of our blends is crafted masterfully. So you can be your best self, live your best life, and rule the day.”
