Sidecar Social, a popular social lounge, will open at The Star in Frisco late next year. A representative for the brand confirmed that it will open in August.
The forthcoming social lounge is coming to 6770 Winning Dr in suite 900, taking over a space that was formerly home to Trophy Park Sports Lounge. Trophy Park, which offered interactive games, live music, food and drinks, closed in August.
Launched in 2019, Sidecar Social is a concept from rapidly expanding Dallas-Fort Worth based restaurant group, On Deck Concepts. The group was founded by North Texas restaurateur Brent Tipps and is most known for sports grill and bar chain, BoomerJack’s.
“I couldn’t imagine a better place for Sidecar Social’s second location. Obviously, being next to the Cowboy’s practice field at the Star is incredible,” Tipps told What Now Dallas in a statement. “But the city and surrounding areas are full of people looking for a place to hang out, relax and connect with friends and family. Our games, live music, shareable plates and TVs make it the perfect place for that. We know the people of North Texas love to Go All Out — and they’ll definitely love doing that in our space.”
According to Tipps, Sidecar Social will not only be taking over the former Trophy Park space, but also the rest of the building.
“The space will feel completely different. It will be more of a welcoming lounge people seek out,” he said.
Sidecar Social at The Star will offer classic games like foosball, darts, Ski Ball, Pop-A-Shot and karaoke. There will be “at least 5 TVs in excess of 20 feet” for watching sports and other events, as well as “additional screens across the location, including outside.”
The Star experience will also include a live music aspect with bands four nights a week. The expansive patios will be covered and enclosed with large doors that can be opened or closed depending on the weather. They will also feature multiple lounge areas with fire pits and additional landscaping making it a comfortable place to relax and hang out.
As far as the menu, it will largely be the same as the original location in Addison but “we’ll be adding and customizing plates specific to the new location,” Tipps said.
Featuring a scratch kitchen, shareable plates will offer Korean beef tacos, smoked burnt end nachos and crispy brussels sprouts. Other menu items will include flat breads, burgers and entrees such as chicken piccata, grilled salmon, grilled ribeye, short rib and blackened chicken pasta.
Mixologist designed craft cocktails will be served by hand and on tap, alongside a selection of draft beers, seltzers and wine. Cocktail creations include the Strawberry Basil Bee’s Knees made with New Amsterdam gin, strawberry puree and basil; the Texas Peach Smash made with Texas-blended whiskey, peach puree and aromatic bitters; and the Spicy Piña Rita made with Tanteo Jalapeño Tequila, house-made sour and real pineapple juice.
Sidecar Social at The Star will be open daily and nightly for lunch and dinner. Weekend brunch will also be served.
“We love the energy the people of North Texas bring to the brunch hour and can’t wait to host them,” Tipps said. “We will also be bringing the same limited-time-offer specials we’ve become known for to the new location, so guests will find new dishes to try when they visit.”
The bar, restaurant and lounge is currently open in Addison at 5100 Belt Line Rd, suite 864, in Village on the Parkway.
On Deck Concepts has plans to continue growing the Sidecar Social destination experience to additional markets within the DFW metroplex and across the state of Texas.
