Houston-headquartered Shipley Do-Nuts has signed a multiunit deal to bring 25 new stores to the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.
The franchise agreement with HPL Capital LLC will bring Shipley locations to Coppell, Denton, Garland, Irving, Las Colinas, Lewisville, McKinney, Prosper, Roanoke, Rowlett and Rockwall.
HPL Capital CEO Michael Poates will oversee the expansion including site selection, construction of the new stores, and hiring of franchise managers and operations team members. Poates has extensive food franchise experience. He previously served in leadership roles with Carl’s Jr., Whataburger, Papa John’s, and Dairy Queen.
“We bring decades of Dallas-Fort Worth experience and a community-oriented business strategy to the Shipley system and look forward to being an integral part of the brand’s growth,” Poates said in a press release statement. “We collectively believe in the Shipley franchise model and its beloved reputation.”
With this latest signing, the Dallas-Fort Worth market is officially sold out for Shipley Do-Nuts. CEO Clifton Rutledge called it a “tremendous milestone.” But the brand is not stopping there.
“As we look forward to growing our footprint throughout 2022, we hope to add experienced multiunit operators in new and existing markets, just like we did with HPL Capital in Dallas-Fort Worth,” Rutledge said.
Founded in 1936, Shipley’s is famous for its fresh, hot glazed do-nuts that are made in-store daily, as well as kolaches and coffee. The fast-growing brand currently operates more than 330 locations and has plans in place to open 300 additional stores over the next five years in Texas and the Southwest region.
