A wine bar featuring self-serve wine is opening soon in The Colony. Simply Unwine is co-owned by Whitney Adams and Aairika Kelly, who both love to enjoy wine. “We would meet up for dinner, have wine, and just catch up on life. We wanted to share that experience with others and then to try to come up with a unique way to do that was by supporting other minority-owned businesses,” Adams told What Now Dallas.

“We will have wine dispenser machines that will allow you to choose your own pour size,” Adams continued. Guests can link their debit card to the wine machine and choose from one of three pour sizes ranging from a tasting to a full glass.

“All of the wine in house at the wine bar will be minority-owned wines, as well as beer and seltzers. So, whether that’s women-owned, Asian-owned, black-owned, everything in house will be minority-owned. Our goal is to basically bring exposure to minority-owned wine, beer, and seltzer companies worldwide,” Adams said.

A small bar will also be featured in Simply Unwine to offer bubblies and dessert wines. At the bar, guests can purchase wine by the glass and specialty mocktails, which can be curated with rosés or Prosecco. “Everyone doesn’t drink. And, we’ll have a few non-alcoholic wine options, as well,” Adams said. The food menu will include shareables such as charcuterie boards, flatbreads, meatballs, and fried green beans, as well as salads.

“We’re really excited. Of course, going through the process can be timely, but we’re patiently waiting to open our doors and share the experience with everyone in the area.” Simply Unwine will be located at 5701 SH 121, Ste. 110 in The Colony. They hope to open at the end of February or in early March depending on permitting and construction.

“It’s a new experience for both of us, but we’re excited to bring something different to the area to allow people to try new wines, beers, and seltzers,” Adams shared.
