Jackie Mays, a 100% plant-based burger concept, is planning to open its first storefront in coming months. Jackie Mays has been slinging burgers via food trailer for the past three years and wrapped up its mobile service this past weekend. According to a post on the Jackie Mays Facebook page, the goal is to open the brand’s first brick-and-mortar location in Denton later this year.
According to the Facebook post, they are in the process of securing the location. Once selected, the space would undergo a build-out and include a drive-thru.
The Jackie Mays menu features burgers and cheeseburgers with premium plant-based patties, lettuce, tomato, grilled onions, and Jackie Mays special sauce on freshly-baked buns. A grilled cheese sandwich and French fries are also on the menu. Gluten-free options are available.
Jackie Mays’ mission is, “to become the leading sustainable fast-food brand,” by serving affordable, 100% plant-based foods. The brand’s website states the burgers contain no animal hormones, antibiotics, cholesterol, or trans fats associated with ground beef. In addition to providing a healthier fast-food option, Jackie Mays also supports animal welfare and climate and social justice, according to the website.
