Dallas’ newest restaurant promises to redefine the steakhouse experience by blending Asian and American influences with an unparalleled focus on high-touch hospitality, quality, and care. Nestled on the first floor of 2401 Cedar Springs Rd, Suite 120, Dallas, TX 75201, Nuri Steakhouse is sure to captivate the attention of locals and visitors alike.
Nuri is a testament to Founder Wan Kim’s deep connections to family, friends, and the vibrant city of Dallas—a source of immense pride for Kim. From his roots in South Korea to his journey through New Orleans and to Dallas, Kim has skillfully blended his global journey into a singular fine dining destination. Nuri is dedicated to its “Care Right” culture, defined by the humble, warm, and gracious nature of their team with an unwavering dedication to excellence. Every facet of the Nuri experience is meticulously crafted to provide sophistication and personal attention, setting the stage for a truly luxurious and memorable experience.
Meaning “Whole World” in Korean, Nuri celebrates the beauty of cultural exchange that goes beyond the plate. “We believe that food is a celebration of life, bringing people together with every bite,” adds Kim in a statement. “Our mission is to provide genuine care for our guests while offering them a culinary experience that transcends cultural boundaries.”
The menu is a collaboration between South Korea’s Michelin-recognized Chef Minji Kim and Executive Chef Mario Hernandez. This partnership honors the rich traditions of Asia, the soulful essence of New Orleans, and the comforting warmth of Southern culture.
Culinary Director Minji Kim, previously a Chef at a Michelin Guide listed restaurant in Seoul, brings her expertise or Asian cuisine to Nuri Steakhouse. She skillfully integrates these flavors with traditional steakhouse fare.
Executive Chef Mario Hernandez brings a wealth of experience from kitchens that include Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse and Gordon Ramsay North America, infuses his creations with international flair and authentic flavors. “This menu represents a true collaboration between two distinct chefs from different backgrounds. Chef Minji Kim brings the East-Asian perspective, while I contribute the Western side. Starting with a clean slate allowed us endless creativity; we merged our ideas to craft a menu we are immensely proud to present.”
A standout feature at Nuri is the offering of Heartbrand Reserve Texas Akaushi. This exclusive menu item exemplifies Nuri’s commitment to sourcing the finest quality ingredients and crafting each dish with care and precision.
Signature dishes at Nuri highlight the restaurant’s Eastern and Western philosophy. The steak tartare, for instance, is presented in two styles: an Eastern version featuring fried noodles, quail egg, and yuzu ponzu, alongside a Western interpretation with capers, anchovies, and egg yolk. Another standout is the two gumbos, which showcase New Orleans and Korean flavors. Diners can choose between the classic chicken and andouille gumbo or opt for the innovative Korean-inspired version.
Complementing the extraordinary cuisine is an equally impressive wine program curated by Master Sommelier Barbara Werley. As one of only 14 Master Sommeliers in Texas and one of just 34 female Master Sommeliers worldwide, Werley brings her unparalleled expertise to Nuri.
Kim explains, “Our wine selection is extraordinarily robust with 750 labels and 6,000 bottles for our guests to choose from,” Kim explains. “We take pride in housing rare bottles, with our oldest wine being an impressive 1863 Madeira and 1900 Chateau Lafite Rothschild.”
The ambiance at Nuri Steakhouse is as meticulously crafted as its menu. Every design element is custom-made, reflecting Kim’s meticulous attention to detail and the expertise of design firm AvroKO. With an investment of over $16 million in design and buildout, the restaurant blends art deco romance, traditional Korean celadon ceramics, and an unexpected touch of cyberpunk culture.
“We carefully select each design element, from the custom stone floors and hand-painted wallpaper from England to the striking polished chrome light fixture repurposed from a milk tank in the bar. We even sourced over 100-year-old china directly from Korea to ensure a dining experience that is as unique and authentic as it is luxurious,” says Kim.
Spanning 9,500 square feet, Nuri offers indoor seating for 150, including the bar and dining areas, with an additional 50 seats outdoors. For a more intimate experience, a private dining room is available, allowing guests to savor the steakhouse’s offerings in a more exclusive setting.
