The chain has not yet named any specific locations, however it is targeting spots in The Colony, Prosper, McKinney, Richardson, and Allen. Newk’s intends to open between six and ten locations over the next five years.
While Newk’s does operate several corporate-owned stores, CEO Frank Paci states that the Texas storefronts will likely be franchisee run. The brand is still seeking out ideal franchise partners, though Newk’s is currently in talks with a potential franchisee.
Newk’s projects the first of this new wave of restaurants could be open by next winter.
Speaking of bringing Newk’s brand of fast-casual cuisine to the area, Paci states “To me, those are no-brainer places you’d want to be. Dallas keeps growing to the north.”
Founded in Mississippi in 2004, Newk’s offers a varied and diverse menu, offering everything from wraps to sandwiches to pizzas. The chain has expanded to include more than 125 locations, 12 of which are in Texas.
