Called Kyoto Hibachi Sushi & Bar, the forthcoming restaurant will open at 1620 N Hardin Blvd, suite 1200. The location is a part of a developing strip center that currently includes a Pilates studio and a U.S. Army recruiting center.

Construction work on the 4,709-square-foot space began this month and is expected to be completed by the end of December 2022, according to a recent project filing.

Bringing the restaurant to the area are owners with plenty of experience in hibachi grilling and sushi. They are behind the popular Osaka Hibachi Sushi & Bar in Sachse, and are currently planning a second location of Osaka for Frisco. That location is expected to open by the fourth quarter of 2022.

Kyoto’s menu is likely to be similar to that of Osaka, featuring Japanese sushi, bento boxes and Hibachi grilling. Guests will be able to choose from a wide selection of sushi, sashimi, rolls and appetizers.

The bar will include wine, beer, sake and specialty cocktails.
