A new bagel and coffee restaurant is set to open soon in Frisco. Called Bagelology, the eatery will open at 252 W Stonebrook Pkwy in suite 600.
The location is part of a shopping center at the intersection of FM 423 and Stonebrook Pkwy. With a Walmart Super Center, Chick-fil-A, F45 Training studio and a drive-thru Tropical Smoothie Café all within close proximity, it is a heavily trafficked area that is sure to bring in lots of customers to the bagel shop.
When translated, “Bagelology” means the study of bagels. The shop is coming to the area courtesy of Ameira Olayan and Fadia Anani, two local moms with busy family lives and completely different careers. They are hoping to open in early June. “We had initially planned for April, but COVID has set us back a little bit,” Olayan told What Now Dallas in an email.
Olayan, who has been a Registered Nurse for 15 years, and Anani, who has a background in higher education administration, have been working on Bagelology for the past three years.
“We both have an entrepreneurial spirit and have been discussing opening up our own business for some time,” Olayan said. “We decided to turn our dream into a reality and have been working hard to create our very own concept bagel shop.”
The two even traveled all the way to NYC to master the art of bagel making and to train with the very best.
“We joke that the whole experience has been like going back to college,” Olayan said. “We are both moms with busy family lives and it just goes to show that it’s never too late to learn something new and even start a whole new career.”
The two chose to bring Bagelology to Frisco because not only is it the most up and coming city in North Texas, but it’s also one of the most family-friendly. “We love the idea of becoming part of the community that we live in, and serving our neighbors hot coffee and bagels in the morning,” Olayan said. “We also noticed that Frisco was in dire need of some really amazing bagels!” No exaggeration there.
The menu will include fresh boiled and baked assorted bagels, flavored cream cheeses, breakfast and lunch sandwiches and assorted pastries. Bagelology will also be working with a local roaster to serve some of the best coffee around.
There will be a few tables inside for dine-in, and a couple outside tables, as well. Online ordering for pick-up and delivery will also be available. Ahead of its opening, guests are invited to follow progress on Facebook and Instagram.
“We are so excited to have this opportunity to serve Frisco and to have this become our flagship store,” Olayan said. “It has been over 3 years in the making for us and it’s finally coming to fruition. The amount of support we have received has meant the world to us.”
And if the bagels that Olayan and Anani made in NYC (photos below) are any indication of what’s to come, that support is sure to continue.
