Piada has four locations in operation across DFW—Fort Worth, Frisco, Plano, and Richardson—with another restaurant coming soon to 6333 E. Mockingbird Ln. in Dallas. Piada in McKinney is expected to open in May 2023.

Matt Harding serves as Senior Vice President of Culinary and Menu Innovation and as Executive Chef for Piada. Harding told What Now Dallas that since opening in the DFW area in 2016, Piada has been performing well.

“We have an amazing broker network in Dallas, and they have been just really relentless in getting us to look at great properties,” Harding said. “We’re continuing to grow in an area that is really friendly to business, first and foremost. Guests love our offerings that we are providing for them, and obviously, it’s just really easy to do business there. We’re excited for it.”

Piada’s is planning additional locations in 2023 for the Dallas-Fort Worth area including Garland, Euless, and Hollyhock in Frisco. “The journey’s been great,” Harding said. “We look forward to growing there.”

Piada started in 2010 “with a mission to create fresh, modern Italian food,” which was prepared using high-quality ingredients with attention to simplistic cooking. “Piada was created with the belief that you don’t have to sacrifice quality and flavor for speed and value,” according to the brand’s website.

The restaurant menu focuses on piadas, pastas, and salads. A “piada” is an Italian-style street wrap that is baked on a stone grill, filled with fresh ingredients, and then hand-rolled. Diners can create their favorite piada or try a Mediterranean with arugula, hummus, cucumber salad, feta, and more. The BLT Piada is a wrap with pancetta, romaine, bruschetta tomatoes, creamy parmesan, and basil aioli. Diners can add crispy chicken if desired.

The pastas are made with durum wheat and house-made sauces. You can make your own pasta or select from the menu. Pasta dishes include the Carbaonara Pasta with parmesan alfredo, bruschetta tomatoes, pancetta, spinach, and grated parmesan, or the Basil Pesto Pasta with parmesan alfredo, basil pesto, bruschetta tomatoes, and grated parmesan.

A variety of salads and fit bowls are also on the menu. And, don’t forget dessert! You can get cannoli chips served with chocolate chip cannoli cream, as well as several flavors of cookies. The beverage selection includes a variety of flavorful teas, lemonades, and more.
