“There are a couple of things driving this. Number one, we hate that we get so busy on the weekends that we turn people away. It just kills us to see customers walk in and walk out because they can’t get a seat,” said Jeff Borland, Local Pint partner. Borland owns Local Pint with his wife Polly, his daughter, Anna Borland Sage, as well as Phillip Coleman and Scott Girling.

Jeff said another reason they wanted to add space to accommodate more guests is because they have had to turn people down who wanted to bring in large groups for parties. “With the extra space, we’ll be able to accommodate that,” Jeff said.

The addition will be able to be converted into a private room. “We’ll have door panels that we can close to separate it from our current space. We’re going to expand our kitchen, add some more storage,” he said.

Jeff hopes to have the expansion complete by mid-summer. Jeff added there will be some times that they will have to close during the expansion process. However, the construction company for the expansion, Eloy Construction Interiors, will minimize the destruction and create temporary walls to keep Local Pint open as much as possible.

The adjacent space has been vacant since Local Pint opened at 2750 Churchill Dr., Ste. 170 in Flower Mound just over five years ago. “It’s never been occupied, so the construction piece of it is going to be pretty easy. It’s a clean slate,” Jeff said.

Local Pint currently offers about 50 craft beers on tap, wine on tap and by the bottle, and a variety of food options. “We change our menu every month, as it is, just to keep our regular customers interested. I think once we expand our kitchen, we might be able to add a few menu items,” Jeff said.

“I would really like to thank the town of Flower Mound for working with us on this,” he added. “We’re excited.”
