Founded in 2016 by local business owner, Ajay Sharma, Salubrious has built up quite a loyal following with its commitment to serving “100% healthy for you” smoothies and juices. In an interview with Voyage Dallas, Sharma said he started Salubrious – which means “to promote health” – by accident. A former Marine, Sharma was eating highly processed ready to eat meals, drinking coffee, and sleeping more than eight hours every night, but he found himself dragging though his days with no energy and always feeling exhausted.
This led him to do research on healthy eating and how he could use food to increase energy, alertness, and daily engagement. What he discovered changed his life and now he’s out to help others change their lives too.
“For me, the key was organic juices and smoothies,” Sharma said. “My mission now is to share what I’ve found. I hope to help some of you find your own good health, and I’m doing that in the most direct way I can: by serving up fresh juices and smoothies from Salubrious Juice and More.”
Salubrious’s offerings are 100% organic, vegan and natural. Juices are not posturized or filled with preservatives and feature such profiles as “Rise and Shine” – a blend of carrots, oranges, apple and lemon; “Mean Green” – made with parsley, celery, cucumber, cilantro, apple and lemon; and “Black Elixir” – an activated charcoal, Himalayan salt, apple and lemon mix.
Smoothies are made with real fruits only and do not even include ice. Flavors include mango, banana, and date-based “Blind Date,” “Pink Dragon” which is made with dragon fruit and pineapple, and house specials “Energizer” and “Mango Magic”.
Being a café, Salubrious offers a full selection of hot and iced coffees. Acai bowls, vegan sandwiches, grilled vegetable paninis, and avocado toast are also on the menu.
Besides its Frisco location at 10990 Rolater Rd in suite 50, Salubrious has made its juices available inside of Filtered Coffee at 218 E Louisiana St in Downtown McKinney. Not only is the brand a “Nextdoor Neighborhood Favorite,” it is also a supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. $1 from the purchase price of all individual 16 oz. juices is donated to St. Jude.
