In charge of the expansion is local couple, Scott and Heather Davis, who are no strangers to franchising. Together, they’ve successfully owned and operated multiple franchise concepts such as Urban Air Adventure Park.
Scott has over 25 years of experience in operations with franchise brands. And Heather, a Texas A&M alumni with an extensive IT background, has always loved the Aggie-favorite restaurant. The two are excited to be getting in early with Layne’s Chicken Fingers and expand the brand in their hometown.
“We are super excited about the opportunity to partner with Layne’s Chicken Fingers,” Scott said in a statement. “It’s going to be a lot of fun working closely with them on crafting how we go to market and plans to grow to several hundred locations over the next five to ten years.”
The menu will feature Layne’s famous chicken fingers (of course!) that come served with sauces like buttermilk ranch, honey mustard, BBQ and the insanely addictive Layne’s sauce — a tangy, zesty in-house creation that has become a go-to among loyal customers. Unique twists on fried chicken, like the three-finger chicken sandwich served on Texas toast, will also be offered.
Founded in 1994 in College Station, Layne’s Chicken Fingers has become a favorite across the state of Texas. Now, the brand is preparing to bring its “soon to be famous chicken fingers” to the rest of the world with plans to open 100 locations in the next four years.
In speaking with What Now Dallas, Scott said they are hoping for their first franchise of Layne’s to open towards the end of spring 2022.
And considering how COVID-19 has and still is affecting the restaurant industry, there’s a possibility that some of the franchises might be drive thru only. “Demand for quick service quality food has grown dramatically,” said Scott. “We’re certainly exploring the drive thru only format which eliminates indoor seating. But some of that may depend on real estate availability.”
Exact locations for the forthcoming Layne’s restaurants have yet to be announced, but when they are, we’re here for it.
